Louisa Knapp was born in London, and began learning the violin at the age of three with Felicity Lipman. While studying at Trinity College, Dublin, she took an active role in the music scene, playing in many orchestras including the Irish National Youth Orchestra. After graduating with a BA Honours degree in music, Louisa studied privately with American violinist Miriam Kramer.

She has taken part in masterclasses given by Benjamin Zander and Miriam Kramer and has also received coaching from Ludwig Müller (Concert Master of the Vienna Chamber Orchestra) as well as from the Spiegel Quartet and the Ysayë Quartet.

Louisa has been a member of the British Youth Opera Orchestra, Wallace Ensemble, Orchestra of the Voices of Little Venice and regularly plays with the Tempus Chamber Orchestra. In 2006 she co-founded the Accordi String Quartet which has since given recitals in and around London. She is also a member of the Altissimo Ensemble formed of eight violinists. Alongside classical music, Louisa also enjoys playing in a variety of other styles including Klezmer, and has performed live and recorded with rock bands.

Louisa is a graduate Suzuki violin teacher and has been invited to teach at string workshops around the UK. She has a busy teaching practice in West London and has recently co-formed the Little Venice Suzuki Group.

Louisa Knapp nació en Londres, y comenzó a estudiar violín a la edad de tres años con Felicity Lipman.
